Community Day 2026 at the Marina

Saturday 30th May 2026

What a Day!

Community Day 2026 – A Fantastic Day on the Waterfront

What a day!

On Saturday 30th May, Thomas Telford Corpach Marina was buzzing with activity as hundreds of local people and visitors joined us for our annual Community Day. It was a wonderful opportunity to throw open our gates, welcome everyone to the marina and celebrate everything our unique waterfront has to offer.

As a community-owned, not-for-profit marina, events like these are incredibly important to us. They allow us to share the marina with the wider community, encourage people onto the water, inspire the next generation and showcase the fantastic organisations, clubs and businesses that make Lochaber such a special place.

Visitors enjoyed an action-packed day filled with free activities, demonstrations and entertainment. There was plenty to see and do, with RIB rides from Cruise Loch Linnhe proving hugely popular, alongside sailing taster sessions from Lochaber Yacht Club, kayaking with Rockhopper Sea Kayaking, and rowing experiences with Lochaber Coastal Rowing Club.

Safety and community support were at the heart of the day, with representatives from Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and HM Coastguard joining us to meet visitors, share their knowledge and highlight the important work they do across Lochaber and beyond.

We were also delighted to welcome RBS, who provided valuable advice and guidance on fraud and scam prevention, helping members of the community stay informed and protected in an increasingly digital world.

Families were entertained throughout the day thanks to Maddie’s Children’s Parties, while Lochaber Pipe Band added a fantastic atmosphere with live performances. Miele’s Gelateria kept everyone smiling with delicious ice cream, and An Cafaidh Mara was busy serving refreshments to visitors enjoying the sunshine.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing so many people trying something new. For many, it was their first time on the water, and it was wonderful to watch children and adults alike discover a new confidence and appreciation for the marine environment.

Events like Community Day simply wouldn’t be possible without the support of our incredible volunteers, local clubs, partner organisations and businesses who generously gave up their time, equipment and expertise. Their enthusiasm and commitment helped create a welcoming, inclusive event for everyone, and we are hugely grateful to each and every one of them.

A huge thank you also goes to everyone who came along to support the day. Whether you joined us for a boat trip, enjoyed an ice cream, chatted with our volunteers or simply soaked up the atmosphere, your support helps strengthen the connection between the marina and our community.

We hope everyone left with happy memories, a few new skills and perhaps even a new interest in getting out on the water.

We’re already looking forward to the next Community Day and can’t wait to welcome you back to Thomas Telford Corpach Marina.
